Hand-cut Glass Keychain Workshop

Shape New Stories from Discarded Glass

Discover the art of turning waste into wonder in this hands-on glass cutting workshop. Participants will learn to safely cut, shape, and sand reclaimed glass from used bottles, transforming it into a beautiful and meaningful keychain.

This session celebrates both craftsmanship and sustainability, offering a unique opportunity to explore the creative potential of everyday materials. Whether you're new to glass work or simply curious about upcycling, this workshop invites you to engage with glass in a purposeful and personal way.

Participants will learn:

  • How to safely cut and handle discarded glass bottles
  • Techniques for shaping and sanding glass pieces
  • How to transform reclaimed glass into a one-of-a-kind keychain

All tools and materials will be provided, including a selection of reclaimed glass bottles. Each participant will leave with their own unique, hand-cut glass keychain as a keepsake of their craft and care for the planet.

Come explore the circular possibilities of glass and create something lasting from what would otherwise be thrown away.

About the Facilitator

Drew Su leads the educational arm at Refind, a sustainability-driven creative studio that transforms discarded glass into purposeful art, design, and learning. With expertise in bottle cutting, engraving, and upcycling, Drew guides participants through the journey of reimagining waste into meaningful craft.

His work blends sustainability with storytelling, encouraging people to see potential in the materials we often overlook. Beyond glass, Drew also works with watercolour, chalk, calligraphy, and engraving, often applying these techniques to reclaimed surfaces to extend their life through art.

Refind believes glass waste is not the end but the beginning of something new. Through hands-on workshops, installations, and community engagement, they reconnect people with the beauty and impact of circular design, one vessel at a time.
